1. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT
Call us and make an appointment. Be prepared to advise us of any medication you are taking and any medical problems you have. We will also ask you for the date of your last normal menstrual period. If you cannot keep your appointment, please call to cancel or reschedule.
2. THINGS TO REMEMBER THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT
a. Take a bath or shower.
b. Consider wearing shoes WITH socks and a two-piece loose-fitting outfit.
c. Wear underwear you can put a sanitary napkin in.
d. Do not eat or drink anything 4 hours before you come in.
e. You may bring a support person with you, but NO CHILDREN ARE ALLOWED.
f. You may bring a book to pass the time, as your total visit will be 2–3 hours.
3. CHECK IN
Patients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to check in promptly at the front desk. Be prepared to show identification, and remember that all services are payable in cash only.
4. LAB
Next, you will be given a urine test in the lab to determine pregnancy, and a simple blood test will be performed to determine Rh factor and red blood cell count, all designed to tailor your treatment to you.
5. COUNSELING
You will then be shown an informative video about what to expect before, during, and after the procedure. You will then meet with our counselor who will answer any questions you may have about your decision, birth control, and aftercare.
6. ULTRASOUND
Ultrasound is included in the price of termination, and is performed immediately prior to the procedure itself.
7. PROCEDURE
Surgical Abortion (vaccum aspiration) 6-15.2 weeks Medical Abortion 5*8 wks.
8. RECOVERY
After your procedure, you will remain in the recovery room under supervision until the nitrous oxide gas wears off (20–30 minutes), and you feel steady enough to leave.
9. RETURN VISIT
You are required to return to our office in two weeks for a check-up. It is very important that you keep this appointment, even if you feel fine. Keep your appointment even if you are still bleeding; most patients are by this time.
